"For small children with skinny butts" 2010-03-13
By Bry Bry (Austin, TX)
I have a small 2 year-old child in the 10th percentile in weight. This seat works well for his small rump. The top portion of the seat removes very easily (which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your child). The rubber lining on the bottom also keeps it in place fairly well when he sits on it.

I can only assume that it will work fine for the generously proportioned toddlers, as well. I don't see why it wouldn't. And don't blame yourself for having a fat baby. His or her fatness may be entirely your fault, but just don't blame yourself. It's easier that way. Life's short. Eat bonbons. Right?

"Should've spent a little more for a better design" 2009-12-08
By E. Smith (Milwaukee, WI)
I have the Graco cushion seat potty too, and this was just for another bathroom. I wish I had spent the extra $10 for the Graco, because this potty seat is by far inferior. The cover keeps flipping onto my daughter while she's on it, and the little bucket is tiny. Also, the actual deat doesn't seem that comfortable, and isn't very secure when you put it on the adult toilet.I would suggest that you spend a little more money and get the Graco.

"Ok, but needs a cup shield for boys!" 2008-11-10
By Chrissy Allen (NC USA)
This potty is decent for the price you pay. It has a wider base, and is more set up like a step-stool than anything else. The top part flips up as a "back" but isn't meant for anything other than being a lid to the potty for its use as a step-stool.My son is just starting to use the potty, and he has a little bit of trouble being far enough back that he can actually pee into the pot. I think it would be fine for little girls, but it lacks the cup mechanism to help little boys. Overall, its decent for the cost, but if you have boys you'll have to do what I did and rig up a cup/splash guard for the front part.

"flimsy construction, no back support" 2008-07-23
By Marka Twain
If I paid a penny more I would give it 3 stars. Considering the price, I wouldn't expect more. The back support you see on the picture only serves as a cover. It is too flimsy to lay back on and also isn't flat, so it would hurt the child's back if leaned back. Made our of cheap plastic, but otherwise serves it's purpose.

"Peter Potty" 2010-03-25
By S. Peterson (Alaska)
Love this thing. It is adjustable so it grows with your child. My son will use it on his own. I don't have to worry about him peeing over the toilet or little sit down potties. He flushes it 2 or 3 times but it will only hold so much water so the bottom drawer wont over flow unless you refill the top without dumping the bottom first. It is easy to keep clean too. I recommend this for little boys. My sister even went out and bought one and loves it.

"What a lifesaver!!" 2010-03-23
By Courtney J. Hall (Auburn, GA)
We purchased a Peter Potty for my 2 1/2 year old and he loves it. He loves that he is able to go just like Daddy. It is the cutiest thing and we have gotten so many compliments on how awesome this product is.

"CHEAP, MISSING PARTS, NOT WORTH IT" 2010-03-22
By S. Massee (Fort Campbell, WA)
I bought this because of the great reviews it had. Now I wish I hadn't. My son and I sat down, super excited to open it up and put it together. As I pulled it out I noticed it was missing parts. It only had 2 screw, while the directions said I needed 6. It was missing a main piece as well. Not to mention, the more I looked at it the more I notice how badly crafted it was. There were plastic shavings falling off of it. The hole(s), edges, and other parts were cut jagged and not smooth. I tried to call the company that same day I got it but their voice mail box was full (gee, wonder why?). Then I read on the information included that it can not be returned, even if it has never been used. Now I am sitting here with an item I couldn't even put together if I wanted to. My son is extremely disappointed and I'm left wondering if I've just wasted 40 dollars. I am going to attempt to contact them yet again this coming week, so we will see how that goes.

"Not the most stable" 2010-03-18
By Christina M. Webb (Vilseck, Germany USA)
If it was just a tad more stable it would be perfect, my son just turned 3 and is newly potty trained, but he just doesn't stand tall enough to use the big potty yet! So this is wonderful for toddlers who are ready for it, I had purchased it last year when my son was ready to start using a potty but he didn't quite understand the concept of standing to do the deed! But now he is like a pro! I would definitely recommend the wall attachment to make it stable, once the "pee cup" fills up it kept toppling over.

"The Toddler Urinal" 2010-02-14
By T. Stephens (Tennessee)
The Peter Potty does not include the mounting tools necessary for mounting, this is sold separately. Although I had no intentions of mounting the urinal to a wall the product advertises 2 positions, it can either stand on the post (included) or mounted to a wall. Also the urinal must lean against a wall or supportive object. It is NOT free standing. We also keep a small towel underneath because when you flush the water sometimes spills over to the floor. My 2 year old loves the Peter Potty Urinal and I like it because it is unique and introduces my son to an urinal. If asked would I buy this product if I knew then what I know now, the answer would be YES simply because the pros outweigh the cons.

"I love this product! My daughter can go all by herself!" 2010-03-18
By C.A. Ostaff (Morgantown, WV USA)
I was a little leery of this, especially because of the reviews about quality and sturdiness, because of course you want sturdiness for your kids. I was fully prepared to send it back if it didn't meet my needs. However, it works beautifully! Easy set-up, and it's adjustable so that my daughter can climb up and sit on the seat all by herself. Note that she is under 30lbs, but it's plenty sturdy for her. She could probably be up to 40lbs and be OK. She can even jump on it.It fully covers the toilet seat, so I'm not worried about it slipping or her falling in. The steps and railings are perfect for her to climb up on. We got it at 6pm, set it up, and right away she climbed up and peed. Later that evening, she went #2 for the first time in a big toilet, all by herself. I'm so pleased I got this!!

"A good product" 2010-03-16
By Caterina (Iowa City, IA)
Works well and is stable on our toilet. My 22 month-old daughter has no problem climbing on to use it.

NOTE: Before I bought this I noticed some other reviewers mentioned that it is not stable. You have to be sure to lift up the toilet seat - then put the PRIMO Freedom Trainer in place.

"doesn't fit" 2010-01-13
By M. Olson Lounsbery (Raleigh, NC)
The ladder for this seat did not touch the floor. We had to send it back because it was about an inch or two short. If you do decide to try the product, you should measure your toilet first. That said, I do agree with some of the other postings that it seemed rather flimsy. Even if it had reached the floor, the seat did not fit firmly on the seat. Perhaps its just made for other toilets.

"Great Idea - not great quality!" 2010-01-13
By A. L. Statham (Cheyenne, WY)
This is a wonderful idea - bought for very independant 18m 20# boy to use. Most stools are too short for feet to touch was hoping this would help. It's still a little too short (my boy is in the 10% in weight and 75% in height - long and lanky) Worked OK he is not very heavy and the step is wobbly - no amount of tightning on the plastic screws makes it so it won't rock back when he is securely planted in the seat and pushes down on the handle (foot platform and legs will lift off the ground) While this doesn't pose a risk as he is sitting on the seat he finds thumping the legs on the ground entertaining I find it annoying. Plus you have to lift both the lid and the seat in order to place this seat on the toilet - not so bad for a boy - not looking forward to using it for my daughter with a young boy who tends to "miss the mark". I think Toilet seats are ookey to touch even with a tube of clorox wipes handy.
Overall my son likes it, he can put it on the toilet and take it off and uses it so it serves it's purpose - could use improvement.
Needs to be heaver/thicker/more solid
wish the foot rest were adjustable in height
Wish it sat over the existing toilet seat insead of directly on the toilet

"Great potty seat!!" 2009-12-29
By Sarah D (Rochester, IL USA)
This potty seat with step ladder is very stable and easy to use. It gives my nearly three-year-old daughter complete independence on the potty. There are no messy little potties to empty and clean. I realized how independent the Freedom Trainer helps my daughter be when she told me she used the potty in the night without waking me! Love it!

"Don't waste your money or your time!" 2010-01-19
By K. Vo (Frisco, TX)
I just purchased this potty today for my son. He is just getting used to sitting on the potty and not yet using it. He likes the handles because it helps him feel stable while sitting. He will sit on it but the opening is WAY TOO SMALL! I don't see how any child can use it without making a mess. We will be returning this potty and getting another one. We will probably go with the Baby Bjorn. Don't waste your money or your time on this one!

"Not Happy With This Potty!" 2010-01-05
By Blue-Eyes' Mommy
We had the same problems other people did with this potty. Pee sprayed out when my daughter sat on it, and the splash guard is useless for a boy since it doesn't stay in place at all. The seat comes off of the base all the time, and the lid closes on the child's back while they are sitting on it. The bottom is narrower than the seat, so it is prone to tipping with a kid on it. The step stool is too low to actually be helpful for getting a small toddler onto the big toilet. The seat didn't fit on top of our toilet very well either, but we managed to use it anyway, although maybe others have different shaped toilet seats that would work better for this. Also, in order to use it as a step stool you have to snap on separate little anti-skid thingies, which cannot be kept on it when using as a regular potty chair or it won't close properly, so they are likely to get lost somewhere in the process of detaching and reattaching them between uses, since the potty has no built-in storage area for these little attachments. And, its construction makes it pretty difficult to keep clean. I wouldn't recommend this and am looking for a better seat to buy.

"I can't imagine a worse potty." 2009-12-01
By joanna b. (Greensboro, NC United States)
I can't not review this potty. I must try to spare other parents. The footprint is smaller than the sitting surface, so it always tips and wobbles when she tries to sit on it. This instability scares her. When it wobbles, the lid falls closed on her back, which scares her. (The lid is light and doesn't hurt, but still.) It's filled with little crevices, which I am sure would be impossible to clean if she weren't too scared of it to actually pee in it. It's trying to do too much, and it certainly does a crummy job of each task. This potty has actually set back our potty-training process.

"Not for little girls, either" 2009-02-18
By Belle Gardner
This potty is driving me crazy. Unless my daughter sits on it in a particular way, she ends up messing up the floor, AND SHE'S A GIRL! I don't know what the problem is; perhaps the hole in the seat is simply too small. If I position her in the correct position, a mess is avoided, but she can't find that "perfect position" by herself. That's a lot to ask of a two year old. She has no problem at all with a different padded potty seat that sits on top of the toilet.

"Great little potty chair" 2008-12-01
By Bablondie25 (Seattle, WA)
My son is 3 and uses this and in fact we liked it so much, we bought another one for the upstairs bathroom! It's convenient, portable, easy to dump out contents from the chamber and we just rinse out and set back in the chair. The rails help child to get on and off. I have not used on top of a toilet, I just wanted it as a potty chair or a step stool, so I cannot comment on that part. It does not tip on us. I have no problems with it whatsoever. Yes, the splash guard can fall in, but we just wash off and snap back into place and I try to teach my son to just point downward when going to the bathroom so he'll eventually not have to use it at all.

"Potty chair simple but practical" 2010-02-27
By Nana Kay (Whitehall, PA)
I have read the reviews by people with boys potty training. Not sure why they are having trouble. Seat is simple no bells, voices or scary parts. Wide base for ease of getting on and off, the pee guard does not interfere with my two year old grandson and he gets on and off unaided. The trick to not having a boy pee between any area is to have them lean or sit forward so the aim is downward. Haven't tried the removable seat on the big toilet but I don't expect to need to. My kids went from the potty toilet to big toilet without the in-between step so won't be an issue for me.Liked the larger bowl area not thrilled about the cushioned seat but seemed to be a feature on a lot of potty chairs. Looked at the bjorn but the bowl for disposal was too small could see number 2 being awkward to clean up. Also very clumsy to get on and off unaided, granted it would not tip but hand landing in the potty bowl was foreseeable.Like the toilet roll being near at hand and that he learns to use it. Lid does not interfere with sitting and was far enough back as to not be a crutch to lean on. I have dogs so the closable lid serves two purposes - 1) to keep dogs away until I can clean up 2) teaches my grandson to do what every woman wants the toilet seat down.
I think having the closed base unit a plus for potential accidental spills because it will contain excess and an easy rinse and clean is better than the floor any day. Also will serve as a nice step stool for washing hands at the sink when he is ready. Can't agree folks of all the ones I tried at the stores (multiple stores mind you, Grandpa was not thrilled at fussy grandma) I like this one the best. Get rid of the cushion seat and I'd be really happy.

"Not a good chair for boys!" 2010-01-13
By Shauna (Rockaway, NJ United States)
The pee guard on this awful, my poor little guy has gotten wacked right in the "beans" (thank you to my husband for teaching him that one!) too many times trying to sit down. Not only does it stick up awkwardly, but the plastic is hard and sharp. Although we just started potty training, he won't even sit on it anymore and we've had no luck in getting him to go on this.

"Got rid of it" 2009-04-26
By Jenne Alderks (Seattle WA 98105)
I thought this potty looked great in the beginning but really its set back the whole potty learning process. I got this one because the cushioned seat could be used on the adult toilet, but it is too small and falls in! It scared my little boy to be sitting on something so unstable and it scared him away from the toilet for a while. I also found it very bulky and taking up alot of space. The pee-guard is a good idea but gets in the way for a little boy. Besides, he's taken to standing up to pee in the potty and even though his aim is very good, the shape of the bowl is such that urine drips down and puddles in the bottom of the container. It made for lots of messes. Eventually I gave up on it, I got a seat that actually fit on the toilet and replaced it with a Bjorn Little Potty. Even at the high end stores, the Bjorn still a much better value than this one: small, no where near as messy and much more affordable.

"Not good for boys, might work for girls." 2009-04-17
By Pato R (LA, CA)
Ok, so take what I say with a pinch of salt since my son has not used it and I just got it. That is why I am going to return it.

The pros: It looks ok, my son was definitely interested in using it, it is not expensive and the seat is well cushioned.

The cons: The seat, which in theory adapts to any toilet for latter use is tiny. It can go in the big toilet bowl, so it will NOT work for latter use in a regular toilet seat. The hole in the potty seat is tiny and the green pee guard ends up being too close to the penis so when my son was trying to seat he hurt himself with the green guard (that is why it was not used). I could teach him to hold his penis down and to seat carefully to avoid further pain, but (in my opinion) if potty training is hard work unto itself having this potty is just going to make it harder. If you don't install the green guard thing pee can go everywhere, especially under the seat. This drives me to the last inconvenience I see, the bowl in the potty. The bowl in the potty to catch the pee is shaped like a pitcher. The potty frame has two holes at the front to get the pitcher out and empty it. It is a pincer grip to get the `handle' of the pitcher. However, if pee has gone under the seat then the pee can leak through those holes and into the potty frame... not the pitcher shaped bowl that is supposed to catch the pee. If that happens, it will be hard to clean the whole thing. If the potty frame did not have the holes and had just handles to pull the pitcher out then it would be better.

I think the design is not the best for boys. Though it can work for girls, since there is no pee guard issue... Maybe sticking to something with a simpler design is best for me and my son...

I got this one at Target. I got it there because I wanted to 'see' the potty and buy a good one.... Murphy's law worked for me this time! The pictures in the box don't show all the components or the flaws this potty has. Target should have open pieces for us to see what we are getting. Oh, well. I hope this helps you. :)

"Great!" 2010-03-22

Great seat especially for boys! The front splash guard keeps things clean and accident free. Just make sure to rinse seat after every use or liquid can get trapped between the cushion and frame.

"Great Seat" 2010-02-23
By Julie M. Beamish (Livonia, MI United States)
This Toilet seat is great. It works great for my son of 2.5yrs old. I would recommend to anyone trying to train a boy.

"Too small to be useful for 3.5 years old boy" 2010-02-12
By Xiang Shao (Eugene, Oregon)
I was too disappointed by this small potty seat. It may be good for those smaller toddler. Definitely not suitable for a 3.5 years old boy, or any boy if you know what I mean. Your boy would make a mess with using it. I am giving it away to goodwill.

"Good potty seat" 2010-02-12
By Global Peace (USA)
My son still needs to learn how to use it properly but it looks like a good first potty seat. would recommend it.

"Cute artwork, but design could use some work" 2010-01-14
By Stephanie V (Upstate NY USA)
My son is obsessed with Cars, so he was overjoyed to get this potty seat, and finally expressed some interest in sitting on the potty as a result. However, the design isn't ideal - the character images are only located on the plastic flap that sticks up on the back of the seat, which means he's always trying to turn around to see Mater & Lightning McQueen, rather than face forward to actually use the toilet. And the pee-cup is pretty snug, with the space between the cup and the handles only fitting a smaller child's thighs. My son is very small for a 2-year-old, so a larger child would have some difficulty with this.
But it's cute, and easy to clean, and does what it's supposed to do - get them interested in sitting on the potty.

"LOVE this potty!" 2010-02-04
By moneebgz (Michigan)
We were having a hard time getting out son motivated to potty train. My son is tall for his age, so I wanted something a little bit higher off the ground, and that had a rewards system. I found this potty, (which I couldn't find in any stores), and it has been great! It talks to the child, and "senses" when they go potty, making big fanfare! It comes with a chart to put the star stickers on, and works like a charm with our son. WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

"Not worth the extra money" 2009-11-29

I have used this potty chair on 2 children. My oldest (a boy) and my youngest (a girl). Both kids were intrigued by the sticker incentive, but I could have bought stickers much cheaper than the increased cost of the potty. The chair is frequently inaccurate and reward the kids for a sucessful potty when they did not actually pee or poop. Trust me... my kids got pretty savvy. My son figured out that if he put his foot on the sensors he could get the toilet to offer a sticker. Over all a good potty, but not any more so than the basic models.

"love it ...will she love it??" 2009-11-03

I love the idea of the talking pot. I just haven't been able to get the little one to get on it :)

"Best Potty chair on the market" 2009-09-09
By Sherri Harney (grandmaSherr)
I looked and read reviews for weeks before I ordered this chair. I have seen many and had several,(I used to babysit). This is the best. How many kids would'nt love to hear it say "good job", and it tells you to flush and don't forget to wash your hands. Has cute sayings and music and lights and stickers with a poster board to put them on. Our granddaughter is 2 and a half, and totally trained except for #2. you won't regret this purchase.

"Good potty but no the best for us" 2009-09-08
By J. Miller (Ohio United States)
I thought this potty was wonderful when I got it. But then when I was training my first daughter I wanted her to be as independent as possible so I wanted her to empty the potty herself. Well that would have bee just fine but she dumped the contents of the potty into the base of the potty. Well a few times of that and now the music and voice things do not work properly. I suppose if you are training an older child or made sure you assisted them every time it would be fine. My daughter was just over 2 yrs old when I trained her. Next time I will just get a plain potty chair.

"My little girl can go by herself!" 2010-03-18
By 4 Bugs Mom (Central USA)
My daughter is 2 1/2. We have the regular padded child seat that goes on the potty, but my daughter didn't feel very secure on it. This gives her the comfort of having rails and a step to get on and off without falling in or slipping off. Easy enough for her to prop up and take off on the potty herself. Folds up when not in use so everyone else can still use the toilet too. I'm even considering taking this along on a car trip for public rest stops. I'd recommend to anyone.

"NOT FOR A BOY!!!!!!!!" 2010-03-11
By KLa
When I started using this potty seat I was very surprised that it had such great reviews and many people used it on boys. This seat is NOT FOR BOYS. The tiny splash guard is useless. Potty training is already hard enough without pee flying all over the place. Every time my son used it, his pee would shoot straight over the splash guard and onto the floor. Then, he would get startled and push his private down to make the pee go in the toilet. This would cause pee to get all over the top of the seat and under the seat as well as on and under the actual toilet seat. It would also run down the front of the toilet onto the floor. Even when he would push his "wee wee" down beforehand, pee would still get all over the toilet and floor. Soooooooo, every time he used the toilet I had to clean the potty seat, the toilet and the floor. If you have a boy, try the Disney Soft Potty Seats by the First Years. There is not a step attached but the pee guard is higher and snaps in place. I tried 4 different potties/potty seats before this and these are by far the best ones. The pee guard is perfect, the seat is soft, and my son LOVES the Cars design. With this being said, this potty seat is very nice and cushy. It fits on my toilet well and I have no problems with it moving around. My son really loved the independence he had when using it since I didn't have to help him get on the toilet. I think it will be perfect for when I potty train my baby girl.

"Potty independence and GREAT customer service" 2010-03-04
By Savvy Shopper (Nashville, TN)
We've had this seat for about 8 months now. I ordered it because my son had difficulty moving our large wooden step stool and the lightweight plastic one was not tall enough for him. When this arrived he used it right away and was so VERY excited that he could use the potty all by himself. Mommy and Daddy were pretty thrilled about that too!I was a little concerned about the construction; it didn't seem all that sturdy so I called the company to ask about a weight limit. The lady on the phone told me they didn't have one, but that she had stood on her son's bottom step and if we had any problems to call. Well, almost a year later, while putting this up, my son somehow cracked the bottom foot. I emailed the company on a Sunday and received an email first thing Monday morning apologizing for the inconvenience and requesting clarification about which piece was broken. By the end of the week, I had received a replacement and we are still using this seat!I am always impressed with companies that stand by their products. We have all been very happy with this purchase and I would certainly purchase again from this company.Incidentally, my parents have the non-step potty seat (Mommy's Helper Contoured Cushie Tushie Potty Seat) and the design is far superior to the 2-piece cartoon-themed model we purchased, both for comfort and for cleaning.

"nice, but doesn't exactly fit" 2010-02-14
By M. Olson Lounsbery (Raleigh, NC)
I bought this product after returning another because the steps didn't reach the floor. This one is definitely made better. It appears as sturdy as something can be when its made from plastic, but the seat doesn't fit our toilet. We reversed the guides that come screwed on to give it a bit more room, so its workable. In reality, however, my son prefers to just hold himself up over the toilet rather than use this.

"Best out there for big kids and oblong toliets" 2010-02-13
By A. McMillen
I love this toilet seat for potty training. My son is a big kid. He just turned 3 and is 37lbs and 41 inches tall. All the other potties I have purchased have seemed too small. I also wanted to encourage the use of the actual toilet, not just in a free standing potty. The problem I had, was I have an oblong shaped toilet that standard seats they sell would not fit. I would put the other seats on and they would slide around. This was not at all stable and did not encourage my son or myself to want to use it for potty training. With the Mommys Helper seats design it stabilizes as soon as your child steps up onto the stool to sit on the seat. It is the perfect size for little ones but also allows room to grow. The other great part is it is a seat and step stool in one. The handles on the sides are great and allow my child to get on the seat by himself.

"Does the job, but has a few flaws" 2009-11-29
By Carl (Kent, WA USA)
This potty does the job, and my son likes it, but it has the following shortcomings:

1 - The bottom of the receptacle is high enough that if a big poopy occurs, it touches your kids bottom, meaning more to wipe later on.

2- It's easy to take apart, but awkward to clean, and there are bits that get bent when re-assembling, that if bent once all further reassemblies become annoying.

3 - The electronics don't like water, so it's awkward to clean without ruining them. To make matters worse, if you have a boy that sometimes misses (even when sitting down), the miss tends to go right onto Elmo's hand, which is the button that you press to make Elmo talk, and is the thing that does not like moisture when you wash it.

So, if your kid is a Sesame Street fan, go ahead and get this, but otherwise I would look for something more practical.

"Impossible for kid to dump out pee on his own" 2009-08-26
By Katharine Karpenstein (New York State)
I bought this ages ago and while my son liked it at first, it is a disaster now that we're trying to get him TRULY potty-trained (ie completely independent, pees on his own, dumps pee into big potty, reassembles potty, flushes, washes hands). It has a weird design where you have to take off the outer layer to remove the bowl part, and then to put the outer layer back on is like assembling a puzzle. It's hard even for me to take apart and put back together. The high five hand is, as another reviewer said, in a bad spot. My son bumps into it accidentally which makes the whole thing seem absurd. He's sitting there, not peeing or pooping but hoping to, and Elmo's shrieking "Way to go! CONGRATULATIONS!" And now the batteries are starting to wear out, which leads to bizarre middle-of-the-night episodes where Elmo suddenly starts talking on his own. Creepy.

I am trading it in for one of the simple models with a bowl you can easily lift out and empty, and no bells and whistles. What's the point of being able to turn into into a (very low) stool later, when by the time he's not using it as a potty any more you certainly will have needed to buy stools for every sink in the house anyway?

"Too Many Parts" 2009-04-03
By Desiree Durang (Southern California)
My son just pulls off the splash guard and wont stay on the chair. I hate the way the seat comes off and it doesn't slip back in well. My son just wants to take it apart all the time anyway and tries to sit on it without the seat. The high five thing doesn't really help and he just bumps it with is leg anyway. My son just likes the fact that it's elmo but he doesn't sit on it.

"Not too happy with it" 2009-03-01
By CD fan (LA, CA)
This product seemed great at first but has become very disappointing, the tabs attached to the seat part have bent after very little use and cannot be bent back into place making it a struggle to place and remove, you just hope you don't get splashed when trying to remove it. I am currently pregnant and it is very uncomfortable dealing with this, I need a potty that will allow me to easily lift the part I need to clean up. I am ready to buy a different one.

"Pain in the Bum" 2009-02-27
By Reader13 (New York, NY)
If you want to spend your time wrestling to pull a potty apart and again to put it together this is the potty for you. This definitely was NOT designed with ease in mind. It takes longer for me to put it back together than for my son to use it. Hate it. Need to buy one with and easy slide out bowl.

"Great for On-the-Go Use" 2009-11-22
By Minerva (Redwood City, California)
I have kept this product in the trunk of my car for about 2 years and still use it weekly for either my 5 year old son (if he suddenly finds he has to go and there is no bathroom in sight) or my 2.5 year old daughter (who prefers it to strange potties in new locations).Yes, my son had a learning curve with the splash guard but with practice he got the hang of it and we have no trouble today. While he was learning, we always were careful to put the potty on a slope and plan for it to run downhill, which we arranged to be backward so his shoes and the hem of his pants leg stayed dry. For on the go use, this was not a serious problem for us as we rarely had backsplash.I love that it stores toilet paper easily in the side compartments, and I also store a squirt bottle of water, hand sanitizer, and plastic baggies (for solids disposal purposes).I love that I can take it on a camping trip, and with the top down it doesn't even look like a potty, and the morning dew collects on the lid, not on the seat.I love that it takes about a half a second between when I pull it out of the car and when it's ready for use. No legs to fold out or snap in place or anything. Perfect for emergencies.I love that it's easy to clean. When I bought this I'd never seen anything like it, and I think the storage compartments give it an edge over the other to-go products out there. I imagine I'll still be using it for a couple more years...

"Excellent for boys!" 2009-10-19
By A. Slye (Ireland)
I never take the time to review products I buy - simply because I am too busy. However, I researched the best potty for my 2 year old son who is very independent and curious. After much tooing and froing I bought te Boon potty bench. We are not forcing him to use it, but now he begs to use it and always makes pee. he likes tucking in his pee pee behind the shield (no spraying mommy!) and watch and listen to the pee go in. It is VERY easy to clean and the pockets on the side are great for his books, a few thomas the tank engine friends and toilet paper and hand sanitizer. I HIGHLY reccomend it and in fact, am here to buy a second one so he has the same potty at my mom's house! A+

"Boon Potty Bench is Great!" 2009-10-12
By V. Libby
We purchased this for our daughter because we liked the wide seat. She loves to sit on it and uses the compartments for books. It makes a great bench for us to sit on when giving her a bath and it is great for her to stand on at the sink to brush her teeth. It is easy to clean and we have not had any problems with leaks or spills.

"Beautiful potty, but didn't do the trick" 2009-09-11
By Alicia Miller
I started potty training my son when he turned 20mos(he just turned 2). This is the second potty I bought for him but he still does not like to use it for what it's designed (he'd rather just pull the lid down and sit on it). Anyway, I was surprised that it was a good size potty, bigger than I expected which was a plus. The pee guard is actually large as well and because it's so rubbery, it looks quite comfortable. But for all it's beauty and comfort my son still doesn't want to use it as a potty. So now, I just let him run free and if he hasn't peed on my floor in about 45 minutes I put him in the tub, run some water and out comes the pee. I used to drive myself crazy that my son would pee on top of the potty or in front of the potty, but I realize he's just not ready yet (The tub thing is working out pretty good though).

"Potty Bench, Potty Bench. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways!" 2009-07-20
By Rachel (Sunnyvale, CA)
This is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me! Well, at least as far as potty training goes. I've got a 40 lb 3 year old that absolutely refused to leave his toys to go to the potty. No amount of M&Ms or cool underpants, or potty trained friends would lure him to the potty.

Until we got... the Potty Bench!!!!!

We have the potty ring, the Bjorn potty, the First Years potty, and nothing worked. The biggest problem was that they stuck to his butt when he got up, and they just didn't seem to fit right. He would always scoot back too far. He was not interested in them at all.

But what I love, love, love about the potty bench is...

1. He puts his books and toys in the "secret" side compartments to play with when he has to pee.

2. He uses the splash guard to adjust his penis down so we have had no spills.

3. He hops on without scooting his butt all over the place, showing that he's comfortable. I don't know why people say the hole is too small. He is a big guy, and the hole is perfect.

4. He likes it so much that even when he doesn't have to pee, he puts the top down and just sits on it and plays with his trucks on it.

"Great Potty Chair for Boys (especially twins)" 2007-11-26
By Darla L. Marvin (Ohio)
I was given a normal potty chair and when I was at Babies R Us, I bought the Baby Bjorn Large Potty Chair. When my kids got old enough they both fought over the Bjorn potty and dismantled the other one. What I liked about this one is that it has a non-slip edging around the corners and the splash guard & basin are one piece and can easily be dumped. My kids are only at the wee wee stage so they pull the basin out of the chair and walk it to the toilet and dump it themselves. So easy to clean and I highly recommend this to anyone.

"Great EXCEPT..." 2007-08-13
By Daphne B (Seattle, WA)
My daughter loves this chair. We chose the white one because it looks most like an ordinary toilet. The only issue I have with this is that after using it the bowl inside often sticks to her butt and therefore tips when she gets out. This can cause a mess so she has to be very careful, which is a lot to ask of a 2 year old.

"The best potty ever!" 2007-02-28
By B. B. (Baltimore, MD)
With five young children in our home, we have two of these Baby Bjorn potties. With constant use (and abuse) they still look brand new! They are easy to clean (I have even stuck the bowl portion in the dishwasher) and easy to transport. My kids LOVE the bright colors which make potty training easier :) Well worth the money!!

"Great Potty, perfetct size, easy to clean, easy to use!!!!!" 2005-10-20
By wonder (usa)
W've found this to be a great potty. My daughter is 2 but is she size of a big three year old. It is the perfect size for her and and also a great size for her ("average sized" two year old) friends who come to visit. It is so easy for her to use and there is nothing there to distract her from doing her business. It is easy to clean! There are no cracks crevices or textures to hold the messes. Its smooth surface wipes down easily with disinfectant wipes.

"not good for toddler with meaty thighs" 2005-09-08
By My2Girls (NY)
My daughter is 2 yrs old and in the 75th% for her height and weight. She is by no meats "fat". The problem with this seat is that the deflector, meant for boys, is not removable and is way to wide. My daughter looked so uncomfortable sitting in this chair since it digs into her thighs. I would not recommend this seat for girls.
