"not for standing boys! or boys at all!" 2009-06-26
By Yoseph Goodman (ny, usa)
this potty came highly recommended and its pretty well made FOR GIRLS. however my son never sites for peepee, the pee goes between the removable part and the chair and ends up on the floor under the chair! when he sits down to make #2 his pee goes all over the place since the peepee "high" part is not high enough. if you have a girl this should not be a problem but if your boy is just starting to to go to the potty and you dont know if he will be standing or sitting, I WOULD NOT GO WITH THIS POTTY!!!!

"Not for boys who stand" 2009-06-08
By R. Musick (Los Angeles, CA)
If your son has learned to stand up to go 'peepee', then be prepared for clean up beneath the potty, EVERY TIME he has to go. Sure, you can teach your son to aim at a sticker or some other object at the bottom of this potty, but if he is in a rush, or I'm not with him every time he has gone, then he'll shoot towards the back of this potty, which then leaks out from the detached piece. It is a great potty, but I wish I just taught him to go in the big potty from the beginning.

"#1 potty chair" 2009-05-19
By Noname
We've had several potty chairs and I'd say I like this one best. It has a high back and armrests, making it comfortable for my daughter to sit. There aren't a whole lot of cracks and crevices, which makes it easy to clean. The chair is sturdy and doesn't tip over. It is larger than some of the other chairs, which were a little too small as my daughter grew. If I had to do it over again, I'd buy this chair first.

UPDATE: This chair eventually went to my niece and nephew. It had been a good potty chair and I was happy to share my good find with my sister-in-law. She agreed it is a good chair.

"No Latch!" 2010-02-23
By Eleanore O. Nary (Albuquerque NM)
This is a great little potty - it works as well as one can expect. My only complaint is that there is no way to latch the seat part of the potty to the potty itself. Meaning that after my little one uses the potty she delights in removing the seat and taking out the bowel . . . which can get a bit nasty. It's definatly not something I would buy again, but other than that it's a great little potty.

"Like The Real Thing" 2010-02-07

I purchased two of these for my twin grandchildren. When the children saw them, they thought they were toy toilets. They were drawn to them quite easily. This is making the potty training a whole lot easier!!!

"I love this potty seat!" 2009-11-08
By V. Carter (Misawa, Japan)
I absolutely LOVE this potty. I can't compare it to any others because it is the only one we have ever wanted or needed. It cleans easily and is very durable. We have had it for 3 years and it has held up well. I love that it is portable. When my son was potty training we would just throw the whole thing in the back of the car and pull over to the side of the road when he needed to use it. Now that he is potty trained, my son still uses the removable seat reducer daily to keep him from falling into the toilet. Soon my daughter will be potty training and my only problem is that I wish they sold the insert separately so that they could each have one. I can't believe what a value this potty is. It is so simple and wonderful. I can't say how much I LOVE this potty.

"So far, this has been a great potty chair!" 2009-09-13
By pearleyed (Oklahoma)
My son is 26 months old, and a few weeks ago he had used a potty chair for the very first time. His first chair he tried was the Safety 1st Comfy Cushy potty chair, which did not work out well for him because the seat was not long enough to accomodate a taller-than-average toddler boy who is to be pee-trained sitting down (initially). If he was far enough back on the old potty chair to pee and keep from bumping his[...]on the splash guard (which was soft, but still), there was no way he would be able to go #2 also!
The seat on the Primo 4-in-1 is a little bit narrower than the Comfy Cushy (which is no problem here), but it is definitely longer, and my son fits onto the seat quite well so that his [...]not bumping against the splash guard, yet his bum is on the seat so that he can go #2. The splash guard on the Primo is not very tall, but the way my son sits on it, this has not been a problem. He has been able to back up and sit on this potty chair by himself without problems, which is not a big deal right now, but of course it will be key when he is able to take himself to the potty.
The top part of the seat is made of a soft silicone which appears to be comfortable for my son, and so far cleans up well. I wasn't sure how I would like that the silicone is a separate piece from the bottom part of the seat (concerns about waste seeping underneath, grooves to have to clean between, etc.), but because the piece does come apart from the bottom half, cleanup is not a problem. There are little tabs on the silicone part that fit into the sides of the bottom, but it really hasn't been cumbersome to deal with (yet - we are in the early stages of potty training).
Though it is no-frills in appearance, I let my son plaster Disney Pixar's Cars stickers all over it to *up* its "cool factor", and he loved that! As far as using the seat part as an adapter for the regular toilet, I do feel like the pads underneath don't have enough non-skid for me, but since it does fit our toilet well, if we do decide to use it, surely I can find something to replace those pads with that is more non-skid than what is currently on there.
Though we have only had this chair for less than a week, I foresee it really serving its purpose as a potty chair and being worth every penny, even if we don't use the toilet seat adapter later.

"Grandson is 'sitting pretty'!" 2009-09-12
By Nancy C. Bennett (New Haven, CT USA)
My daughter says my grandson loves the PRIMO...he's 2 yrs. old and just starting to show interest. She says she's glad that it has a soft seat for him and that it has those handles on the sides. For now, he loves using it as a stepping stool, but soon he will take it to the next level, as he continues to show interest in potty-training.

"Great Product" 2010-02-10
By Gavin'sMommy (Fort Wayne, IN)
This is just an all around great product. It is very sturdy and has a non-slip surface on the whole top. The part that touches the ground also has non-slip surfaces. Holds it place very well on bathroom floor tiles. Not the most beautiful step-stool, but I didn't buy it for looks.

"Lightweight and sturdy" 2010-01-30
By J. Yoon (Rochester NY)
Purchased white step stool 2 years ago and still looks quite new. The top rubber surface and no skid pads on the bottom are very effective. My personal favorite feature is that it is very lightweight which allows even my 2 year old daughter to pick it up and move it (or throw it into the bathtub and play with it in the water).

"Good Product" 2010-01-27
By Amit V. Shah (Austin,TX)
Ordered this product about 5 days ago. Must say that I am impressed. It is durable, sturdy and is a companion for my 2 year old. She seems to take it all around the house (even climb up the sofa from the armrest side) just to go up the sofa.
It has been very easy to have the young gal adapt to using it. She gets up and gets down smoothly from her regular activities (brushing, using the toilet, etc).
Highly recommend it to anyone whose child is about to be potty-trained or can wash hands or perform simple hygenic chores.

"step" 2010-01-17

Bought 2 steps about 4 yrs ago. We still use them today. Very durable and easy to clean. The only con is that if a child steps on it but close to the edge the step stool will tip over.

"Great Potty Chair a little uncomfortable for baby boys" 2010-02-21
By S. Langis (Revere, Ma USA)
I bought this potty chair for my son's first birthday. No, I had no expectations what so ever. I just wanted to introduce him to it. The day after his birthday I open the box and me and daddy placed him on it without his diaper. He sat comfortably and played with the side handles. He made some grunts and we thought he was doing his typical noise making (because the sound activator on the potty chair was suppose to go off once it was in contact with contents) and there it was his handy work he had some bowel movements for the first time. We were very pleased. The sound doesn't go off if the contents don't touch the sensors. Later on that night I placed him on it again to demonstrated to my Aunt what we had done earlier, and the music played because now he had peed in the potty. It was a very proud moment for us and him. Later the next day we attempted this again, however, now he is so distracted by the pee pee shield that he just moves it back and forth. He often hurts himself when he tries to stand up by himself. I removed that piece but now it can't serve it's purpose. Over all, I think this would be perfect for a girl.

"Great potty!" 2010-01-31
By Pinkgirl (Clearwater, FL)
I highly recommend this potty. It's really cute how it plays music when my son pees! I would have given it 5 stars, but I'm having a little trouble with him keeping his private part down into the attached cup that's supposed keep him my peeing into the air! It might be his fault though cause he tends to sit back and then it pops out! I also love that it converts to a training seat for the regular toilet and also into a step stool! :)

"Pee Guard is too easily folded or removed" 2009-11-13
By AFWife2002 (Alamogordo, NM)
My boys have never actually "used" this potty. However, I bought it and took it out of the package and both my twin boys loved it and were fighting over who would sit on it (while clothed)! However, they both can't stop playing with the pee guard (which is EASILY) removable. The pee guard also folds down very easily. So I can't imagine that it would do much good, if anything I think it would fall down and just make even more of a mess than without it. So I'm returning this one and going to try something else.

"love it, great price" 2009-09-08
By Tpauli (Indiana)
this seems to be the best one that I have searched around for, plus my daughter loves having her own potty, and when she goes she gets a little music to encourage her.

"Dirty Royal Potty" 2009-07-05
By A. Jarrett
Great potty, arrived on time and non-damaged. However, it had been previously removed from its original packaging which was obvious due to the large dirt footprint on the lid. There was also dirt and grass inside the potty. It doesnt appear to have been used as a potty but someone definitely did do something with it. Since it was not damaged I didnt want the hassle of returning it but I am very disappointed in the seller and will not buy from them again.

"best one for boys - also good for girls" 2010-02-07
By medmom (Southwest USA)
I'm potty training boy/girl twins right now, and we have three different styles of potty chairs (this froggy one, a stepstool/potty chair/toilet seat style, and an old under-the-seat bucket style). I agree with the other reviewer - this one is by far the best for boys. (Also great for girls - we have the pink version, too.)I delayed my son's potty training because the little cup on his other potty chair made him seem so cramped & uncomfortable. I also had to watch him every minute to make sure he was still "in position" and wouldn't spray all over the room. My son saw this potty chair in a store and wanted it, so I decided to give it a try. Within a week, he was dry more than half the time. The design forces him to sit in the right position so he'll always hit the front wall. He can sit on it by himself as long as he wants, and I never have to worry about whether he's going to miss and make a mess.Another thing I hated about potty training was the disgusting crevices that I had to clean out. The bowl on this potty chair is smoothly contoured and completely seamless. There is no place for germs to collect. Even the handles are all one piece with the bowl, and I can lift the whole thing out & dump it without getting my fingers anywhere close to the mess. This doesn't have the bells & whistles of one of the three-in-one that I bought. There's no stepstool, and it doesn't transition to a toilet seat. But the other one just didn't work for my son, so it was pointless to buy it.My daughter was using a hand-me-down bucket style chair that was just plain gross to clean. It seemed like she was uncomfortable on it, too. I let her pick her own new chair, and she chose the pink version of this one. That was a week ago, and she has been dry all day for several days now. I think it's just a lot more comfortable and fun for the kids to use.

"Best Potty Chair" 2010-02-03
By Lorien (Missouri USA)
This potty is the best one on the market. My son is a large toddler but he sits on this comfortably. The deflector is large enough to actually work, unlike most potties, and the fact that the reservoir is all one piece(and lines the entire inside, deflector and all, so nothing else gets dirty) makes it really easy to clean. The handles on the sides even help him empty it by himself. And the price can't be beat.

"Son Loves This Potty!" 2010-01-31
By Rachal Gustafson (McCleary WA)
My Son started to use this potty at 1 1/2 he loves to sit on "Froggy." I actually got this as a gift from my mom and he loved it so much I bought another one from Amazon so he could have one at grandma and papa's. I actually saw this same potty at Target for about [...] but figured I would just buy online to avoid the inconveinence of going to town to buy it. It's a bit hard for him to get off of because it sits so low and he is so young. It's super easy to clean, and looks cute in the bathroom. I would recommend this potty to anyone! :)

"Fantastic potty chair for my little boy!" 2010-01-24
By Kara J. Ayala (southern TX)
We bought this potty for my 2-yr-old after trying another "delux" potty, with soft cushion, high back, etc. The other potty was messy to clean and had no "pee-pee" guard for boys (so we were constantly cleaning up spills and oopsies). I thought this froggy potty looked uncomfortable, but apparently I was wrong. My son sat on it at a friend's house and went potty all week, using this one!! And to clean, just grab the inner pail, rinse out, and done! I am annoyed that we spent the money on the other one. We now have 2 of these - one upstairs and one downstairs.

"The best potty for boys" 2010-01-21
By Domestic Engineer (NYC)
I have tried a number of potties, and I truly think this is the best potty for available when it comes to training boys. I have yet to see such a high splash guard on any other potty. It's comfy, thanks to the high back. The handles are just the right size. It holds a lot. It doesn't have a drawer-style bowl, which some kids like to remove while doing their business. And of course it's an adorable froggy. My kids like to drive it around the room while making froggy noises. Two thumbs up from me.

"Not good for boys" 2009-10-04

I bought the blue one for my boy. The potty hole is so tiny even for a tiny butt and the splash guard is useless.. I tried to put the toilet trainer on our toilet seat .. It did not fit at all.

"Simple easy to use potty" 2009-05-27
By Tracy Becker (Fort Meade, MD)
I got two of these from someone who's twin granddaughters never used them. I figured they were cute and she didn't want much for them. I'm really glad I got them. They are sturdy, my daughter has been using them to stand on for a while, long before she started potty training. About a week ago we actually started trying to potty train and these come in really handy. I have one in each bathroom and she can go use it, lift up the lid, take the "cup" and pour it in the potty and then return it to the chair. Its a simple design so its super easy to clean. She just used it as a seat on the big potty and it worked really well. It will take some practice for her to scoot all the way back on it. I think it could use something to make it slip a little less. It could be that mine is missing something though. Overall we both like this potty and would buy it again.

"great potty for girls at great price" 2008-10-07
By rational (California)
I bought it for my daughter who is a little over two years old. This is her 2nd potty chair and she has had greater interests in using this than her old one (an old model of Fisher-Price potty chair that a friend gave us). I think there are several reasons:
1. It's new and it's pink;
2. The pink seat cover has a more comfortable contour that fits better for her. My daughter's build is small and a lot of the other potties have a much higher "pee-stop" for boys which is uncomfortable for her. You can remove the pee-stop on some models but then it leaves a somewhat sharp edge at the connection point which can also make her uncomfortable.
The additional reasons I like this potty include:
1. In some other models, one has to "take apart" the seat before emptying the content and one has to put some parts on the floor which is kind of gross to me. In this model, the lid and seat cover are all connected on the main seat by a hinge, so no part needs to be on the floor when I take out the container. And the container is easy to clean.
2. It has a lid with light pink clor so it's less noticeable when one puts it in the living room.
3. You can't beat the price!

"Cute pink potty but...." 2008-08-28
By LuvMyFamily
the "grippers" on the base feet slip off easily. The lid wont stay up either. However it was cheap, it was pink, and my daughter loves it. I just make sure I am always with her and I brace it against something.

"Great Seat!" 2010-02-15
By K. Marsinko (West/Central PA)
This is a wonderful potty seat! I just purchased my second one (I have twins that always have to "go" at the same time!)and it works wonderfully. It fits the toliet seats very snugly - we have an elongated toliet seat, and makes my boys feel very secure. It is also very easy to take off and on - the boys can do it themselves which encourages independance. Well worth the money!

"Toilet Confidence" 2010-02-15

We've used several different potties, but this seat for the toilet has just been great. We've used it in several public restrooms and regularly at home. Our 2-year old son is comfortable using it because it is so solid.

"Dangerous - splashguard caused us a trip to the ER and four stitches" 2010-02-01
By Froggiemom (Boston, MA)
This potty seat worked well for us until this past weekend, when my son attempted to use it without a step stool. As he was trying to slide off, the splashguard stopped his progress, which caused the skin just above his penis to tear from the pressure of being trapped. He now has four stitches in a very sensitive area, and this was a very traumatic event for him.The splashguard on this seat is pointless anyway, since it's too close to allow any room for the penis to extend, and my son has always had to push his penis down to pee into the potty. A splashguard on the floor chair version seems less dangerous, but on this model, where the seat sits on top of an adult potty, having such a high (and unremovable!) splashguard is just plain dangerous.

Parents of little boys, beware.

"Great for Boys (and girls)" 2010-02-01
By Mallary Baumgartner
The raised area in the front helps keep everything going in the right direction for little boys (and girls) who sit down to learn. It fits well on the toilet when adjusted (which is very easy to do). This is the second one we purchased and we are thankful for both of them (one upstairs and one downstairs).

"Babybjorn Toilet Trainer" 2010-01-31
By teesa
Good fit for my toilet, good for my little girl, two and half years old. Easy to use, although not sure of sterility of adjustment mechanism, but stays in place good. The design is cute also.

"Toddler Perfect" 2010-02-14
By N. Kneisley (TN)
We have boy and girl twins who are 30 months old. The size of this little potty is perfect! Both of the twins are 35 inches tall. Our son is 30 lbs and our daughter is 26 lbs. We have had no problems with BABYBJÖRN Little Potty. The price is a great value and the vivid colors are fun.

"It's a potty" 2010-02-08
By Mary Manchester
It does what it should! It's small, it catches poos and pees, and it's fairly easy to clean out. The only thing that isn't perfect is when you dump pee out, some of it runs down the side and usually drips on the floor. For the price, though, you can't beat it. We use it with my 4-month old daughter and it fits her little bottom just perfect!

"Great for infant potty learning!" 2010-02-04
By P. Snyder (Ohio, USA)
I received the BBLP 4 days ago. I purchased it for my 4 month old son. He is about 16 lbs, and fits on it just right. I take him to his potty at regular intervals, and he already knows to use it when I sit him on it! It also makes it easy for him to sit up on it all by himself, even though he can't always sit up unsupported. My baby loves his BBLP, and so do I!The only suggestion I have is to have some sort of rubber grip on the bottom, so it doesn't slide or tip on linoleum.

"GREAT smaller potty!" 2010-01-30
By RED (Anchoarge, AK)
My daughter started using this potty at 15 months old and it fits her perfectly! My daughter has always been a smaller child (weight around 17lbs when we started using the potty). It's nice and small and she doesn't fall into the potty like others we have tried. I even take it with us when we leave the house. I've used it in our truck, public restrooms, and the like. It works great and is easy to empty and clean. I would recommend this potty to anyone potty training especially if your child is a smaller child.

"LOVE IT!" 2010-01-18
By Renee Pietrangelo (Los Angeles, Ca)
Harper is now 2 and is pretty much going on the "big potty" now, but we still keep this one around for fussy moments, she feels like she can chose which one to use. Light weight, easy to clean, fits anywhere, great price... Love how it seems to support great posture too!

"Still not fully utilized, but very promising" 2010-02-13
By AMM (Baltimore, MD)
We bought this for our then-18 month-old son to get him accustomed to the idea of potty training. He's nearly 21 months old now and still hasn't actually used the toilet, but he always sits on it when one of us goes to the bathroom. So, we'll see how the next few months go. At least the songs are catchy!

"Not for boys!!!" 2010-01-09
By Kelli Kramer
I actually purchased two of these potty's because I am a mother of twins (boy and a girl.) so I wanted to get them their own potty's. It is a GREAT potty if you have a little girl. My daughter absolutely loves it and it is very easy to clean, however I had to get my son a different one because the splash guard does not work at all. Everytime he went it slpashed EVERYWHERE including his face at one point!!! So yes, it is an EXCELLENT potty for a girl... I couldnt be any more happier with it, either could my daughter but does not do well if you have a boy!!

"Disappointed" 2009-11-11
By Cathie J. Gallion (Ironton, Ohio United States)
It easily comes apart into pieces which makes my granddaughter rather take it apart than do what needs to be done. Also the volume is so low on the audio responses it is hard to hear even for the little one.

"Best Potty!!" 2009-09-07
By T. A. Olsen (Hawaii)
This potty rocks! I was orignally ambivalent about the cartoon face but now I like it. The seat is removable and fits on an adult toilent for continuity in potty training. My son loves it. He wouldn't go near the old one with the big spash gaurd after he bumped up against it once. We got this one cuz the awful splash gaurd that is on most pottys is REMOVABLE!! Yay! Down with splash gaurds! My son pees standing up like papa anyway.

"Great First Potty!!" 2009-07-05
By Nate (Michigan)
We haven't started potty training but we purchase a winnie the pooh toilet and our daughter wouldn't even sit on it. Soon as we took this one out of the box she's all for it. I would recommend for first time parents.

"Glad I bought it" 2010-02-12
By JDN (Canton, MI United States)
I researched several sites for customer reviews in addition to Amazon and some comments almost made me not purchase this great product.I've had none of the issues like putting the seat back on the base after emptying the waste tub or the sensitivity of the voice activating if you bump the product. With a little of my help, my just turned 2 year old godson can reassemble after using. He loves using it. We've only had two instances where he soiled his diaper in the two weeks since he has starting using it and that's because we were out all day sightseeing and he didn't have a chance to use it. This is a great change from the prior children's potty being used. Plus this one is very stable to sit on. The splash shield for boys works perfectly to prevent "overspray".If your kid likes Elmo, I think this product will work well for you too.
I highly recommend the product.

"Great motivator" 2010-02-08
By Rosalie Caraballo (Chicago, IL)
This potty really motivated my daughter. She was so excited to hurry up and use it. Great, easy to clean and turns into a step stool. The only downer is that Elmo can get kind of annoying.

"Fun for potty time!" 2010-02-05
By M. Rodriguez (San Antonio, TX)
My daughter LOVES Elmo and he delivers, as always, with the potty chair! He talks in both English and Spanish! The tray is easy to remove and clean. With very few crevices or tiny places, clean up is quick and easy. Elmo does stick out a bit far, so when she sits on it to potty, he preemptively congratulates her, but she likes it! The only problem with this chair is that when she's not pottying she still sneaks away to "play" with Elmo by pushing him so that he talks to her.

"Great potty chair" 2010-01-24
By Rachel McElhany (http://chaosisafriendofmine.typepad.com)
I've used this potty chair for two boys and it's held up great. Elmo can get a little annoying but the kids love to listen to him and it keeps them entertained while they're sitting on it. Also, I removed the splash guard thingy in front because it just got in my boys' way.

"Cute & easy to clean" 2009-12-01
By S. Colgin (Houston, TX)
I bought this potty for my daughter. It is very cute, she loves Elmo. It's also very easy to clean, which is great for me!

"Very good deal." 2010-02-16
By W. Centala (Kentwood, MI)
We received this item last week in the mail and I have to say that I am very satisfied with the quality. This is a very sturdy chair with a nice no-slip rubber coating around the bottom edges, and this seems like a chair that will be super easy to clean. My daughter is not quite ready for this but I am sure this is a great purchase.

"Great potty chair!!" 2010-02-16
By Vanessa Cumming (Florida)
This is my daughter's first potty and she peed into it the very first time she sat on it! It is easy to clean and fits well in a small bathroom, very user friendly!

"functional, but not comfortable" 2010-02-15
By Anne Labadie (washington, ct United States)
It functions. If my 2 year old boy pees in it the spray is minimal, the rubber pads keep it from sleeping, and its easy to clean. However he hates the potty. The seat sticks to his butt and is made of hard plastic so is very uncomfortable. He will perch above the seat using his arms to hold him off the seat rather then sit on it. I have since gotten the boon one and it is much more comfortable and he sits on it much better.

"Great little potty chair" 2010-02-14
By Blue-Eyes' Mommy
There are "fancier" potties out there, potties that serve as a potty and also double, triple, or quadruple as a step stool, "big" toilet trainer seat, toilet paper holder, or provide positive reinforcement in the form of cartoon characters, music, and who-knows what else. This potty does none of that. It doesn't even have a lid to cover the bowl. But those other potties, the ones with the neat designs and features, they are good at a whole lot of things, but not so good at being potties, in my experience. This potty is just that - a potty...but it's a really terrific potty. It's comfy for kids of different sizes to sit on, isn't huge, and is a cinch to clean. And most importantly, with our old potty, my son never peed without spraying out of the bowl...since we got this potty, he's never sprayed pee anywhere but in the bowl. That pretty much says it all!

"Great design!" 2010-02-11
By S. Roberts (Cincinnati, OH)
My son is only beginning to potty train, but he instantly felt comfortable with this seat. I had purchased a construction truck potty for him because he likes that sort of thing, and he thought it was neat, but he hated to sit on that potty. I failed to realize how important comfort and feeling secure are in the potty training process. He was successful the first time he sat on this potty and tried to pee! Great product!
