This is the best potty chair. I bought it to keep in the car for on the go potty needs given that it has a lid and the space on the sides to store supplies like TP and wipes. Honestly it is a little bigger than I was expecting but my 2 year old loves it. She immediately wanted to try it out. We had the Bjorn potty in our bathroom which I thought was fine but my Toddler certainly expressed a preference for the Boon Potty Bench. Now I am ordering a second for the car.

My daughter is a non-stop whirlwind of motion! We bought her a Fisher Price Princess Potty and she likes it well enough because it plays music when she pees, but she discovered the button underneath to make the music play with out peeing and it lost its thrill for her. I had been oogling this potty on here for a while but just hadn't ordered it yet. Than today I walked into our local 2nd hand store and there was one sitting there all pristine and clean for $2.00!!! BARGAIN! I brought it home and washed it myself (just to KNOW it was clean) and we were out on the front porch and my daughter IMMEDIATELY wanted to use it! And she did LOL. I don't mind having it out on the front porch for her because when the lid is closed it looks NOTHING like a potty seat, she has a little play tent on the porch and when she says she has to go I just set it in there, poof! her own private outdoor potty LOL. It also will pack/travel nicely as well because of the flat top and bottom, unlike other "shaped" potty seats like the princess one. We travel 200miles to my parents house quite often and have always had the challenge of packing the potty seat so that it doesn't take up the limited space we have. Now, problem solved! And if she needs to go while we are on the go I can just sit it in the back of our SUV hatch area and she has a potty, this will also be great for my 6yr old as well, as there are 30-50 mile stretches in our journey with NOTHING there, just farmland and forest... who knows, maybe if Mommy has to go bad enough Mommy will use it too LOL

I saw the reviews say this isn't good for boys and I totally disagree. My son will be 2 next week and is 36 inches tall (which is on the taller end) and he is using this seat with no problem! I removed the orange splash guard, in my opinion its useless. I just told him to sit slightly further back and point his penis down, I don't even think he entirely got what I told him but he's using it no problem and everything goes in the bowl. The best feature about this potty is the two side compartments that can hold books etc. My son loves to play with them while he's waiting to go etc. The back is also nice for them to rest their back against. Here's a trick if you don't like cleaning potties, I just put a plastic around the removable insert so when ds goes poop and pee I don't have to clean the potty insert out since everything goes in the bag and I just throw the bag away right then. I realize the bag isn't so environmentally friendly and I usually know when ds is going to poop so I primarily have it in for those times only. Anyway we love the potty, it's very easy for him to use himself which is why we're waiting to put a ring on the big toilet.

I have kept this product in the trunk of my car for about 2 years and still use it weekly for either my 5 year old son (if he suddenly finds he has to go and there is no bathroom in sight) or my 2.5 year old daughter (who prefers it to strange potties in new locations).

Yes, my son had a learning curve with the splash guard but with practice he got the hang of it and we have no trouble today. While he was learning, we always were careful to put the potty on a slope and plan for it to run downhill, which we arranged to be backward so his shoes and the hem of his pants leg stayed dry. For on the go use, this was not a serious problem for us as we rarely had backsplash.

I love that it stores toilet paper easily in the side compartments, and I also store a squirt bottle of water, hand sanitizer, and plastic baggies (for solids disposal purposes).

I love that I can take it on a camping trip, and with the top down it doesn't even look like a potty, and the morning dew collects on the lid, not on the seat.

I love that it takes about a half a second between when I pull it out of the car and when it's ready for use. No legs to fold out or snap in place or anything. Perfect for emergencies.

I love that it's easy to clean.

When I bought this I'd never seen anything like it, and I think the storage compartments give it an edge over the other to-go products out there. I imagine I'll still be using it for a couple more years...

This seat is great for girls! My daughter is about 42" tall and 42 lbs, and this seat fits her perfectly. We just bought this toddler toilet seat in pink and white at Target. It was the comfiest looking one there. My daughter absolutely loves it, and has been using it non-stop since we got it. She was already about 75% potty trained using a stand-alone toddler potty Safety 1St Comfy Cushy 3-in-1 Potty, but I was getting a bit tired of cleaning it out all the time, so I decided to buy this. The only downside is it did not fit on our standard size toilet seat (about 1/2" too big), so I had to go back to Target and buy a slightly larger adult toilet seat with brushed nickel hardware. (Yes, I could have just bought a smaller toddler seat, but they all looked cheap and uncomfortable.) I am proud to say I took off the old seat and installed the new adult seat all by myslef. The new seat looks the same but the opening is a tiny bit bigger so that the toddler seat fits inside it perfectly. I don't see how it could move around or slide off. My daughter uses a step stool to get up onto the adult toilet (she's tall for her age, so this goes smoothly- no adult help needed). She loves her new seat so much that she wipes it down with baby wipes and puts it away in the under-the-sink cupboard after each time she uses it- how great is that! No issues with any pee on the floor so far. We always clean it after each use, even if I don't see pee on it. I am not sure if it collects pee when boys use it, but for a girl, there have been no issues with it getting soaked in pee or hard to clean off. I am considering getting one for my parents house, too. The only downside is that I wish they had sized the plastic supports to fit all standard toilet seats (or made them adjustable). I had to take the Munchkin seat with me to Target and rip open toilet seats in the store to find one it did fit (sorry, Target!)-- the first one I opened it also did not fit. Just a tiny adjustment would have meant it would fit all standard seats, without compromising the security of the overall fit. Also, I wish the color of the seat was pink and/or had a pattern. Being pure white, you know it's going to get stained and show marks easily. We already have a blue pen mark on it, no idea how, and even bleach wouldn't remove it. Still, for toddler comfort and feeling secure and not worrying about "falling in," you can't beat this seat! :-)

Beware of this seat. As funny as this might sound at first, it was pretty scary. My son put this over his head and around his neck. It was very scary because it was difficult to remove, not to mention painful. My mother was letting him play with it and that is what happened. This seat should be designed with a split somewhere so that this doesn't happen. I've told my son that it wasn't a hat, but I'm still afraid of having it around. Hopefully he isn't too traumatized by this and will potty train soon.

We bought this potty seat for my daughter to start training because it seemed cushy and comfortable, and being first-time parents we had no clue what to look for in a potty seat. After she "successfully" used the seat the first time, when I lifted her up, there was urine all over the back of her legs and the seat. It happened every time she was "successful." Not sure why this happened, but we bought a different seat (much more firm) that it doesn't happen with, and I would have to say it is due to the seat's cushiness. I wouldn't waste your time or money on this seat.

As mentioned in other reviews this seat is not at all suitable for little boys to use. I had bought this (in green) for my daughter when she was around 3.5 years old (now 5) and it worked fine. Then my son came to potty training age and it's absolutely not well built for little boys. The hole is just barely big enough for when he has to go poo and/or pee - if he sits straight and center. There's been quite a few times when he didn't tuck himself all the way down and we ended up with a pool/waterfall of pee. And a very unhappy little boy. Although he made it to the potty in time he went away feeling a little like he failed I think. Now he insists on help every single time so there's no sense of him feeling truly confident in himself to go by himself. Along with that the cleaning up of the collected pee in the pieces that hold the seat in place is no fun, and the pee tracks from where it's stored standing on it's little "feet" next to the toilet. Just too many places for pee to collect. Not at all sanitary. My one and only guest bathroom, which is also the kids' bathroom, now reeks and I'm currently waiting for a replacement toilet seat that incorporates a kids potty seat along with the adult seat. Kohler has a great one, however they only have it in elongated size. So I'm now waiting for one (different brand) in standard that'll be just as good, or at least MUCH better than the potty seat he's now using. The whole family can't wait to toss this potty seat.

I agree, some of these reviews are a bit misleading. The seat is very cushy - more so than others we tried, and my daughter loves it. My son liked it too, but as noted in other reviews, with no splash guard it really does not work well for boys. It also can slide around a bit, but most of the seats do anyway as I have found. We purchased a second one for our daughter.

I bought this potty seat thinking it was a really good deal for the price and it is if you have a girl.I dont, I have a boy .First of all the cup is not tall enough to guard the urine from spraying all over,second the seat is too small for them to sit comfortably for very long.the only thing I think is good is the clean up and the idea the kids can use the potty for a stool too.But all in all this product was a disappoinment for me.Its not at all what I had hoped for.

I'm going to list the problems I found:

- It slides on the tile when my son tries to sit on it. It says non-slip?!

- When he does manage to back up to it he stops when his heels hit the base and sits. He ends up sitting only on the front. The hole seems to far back.

- The blue cushy part is small. In an addition his little boy parts dont fit the shield area.

- As an alternative I removed the cushy part. When you remove the cushy part there is an inch lip on the plastic bowl where it fits, I'm sure that lip doesnt feel good on the back of his thighs. Then its almost like hes sitting INSIDE the bowl.

We were desperate to help our twin three-year old boys transition to underwear, but they refused to urinate on the traditional "seated" potties due to many "misses," during which their socks got wet. This urinal is AMAZING! After using it for a week, my boys now wear underwear! They love to use it, and we've never had a single drip on the floor! The potty is a neutral color (white) to match all bathroom decor (unlike its competitor's product.) The design is simple, and cleaning is very easy. The height is perfect (we use it on the stand.) The Totseat has very quickly become one of our favorite baby gear items. We've used it at restaurants and on family visits, and it invariably attracts admirers who wonder 1), what it is, and 2) where can they get one? Our daughter seems to enjoy sitting in the Totseat, and while another reviewer mentioned her baby kicking her chair over, we just follow the same guideline that we do for our home high chair: make sure your chair is pushed back so that the table's out of reach of Baby's feet.

Things I love about the seat:

Packable: For something so useful, it folds up so tiny! Just stash it in your diaper bag and forget it until you need it, like at your aunt's house, where there are no high chairs. Or at the odd restaurant without high chairs. Folded, it's about the size of an old TV Guide.

Adjustable: I've used these on a variety of different chairs, and with the elasticized drawstring and buckle straps to cinch in the width, and buttons to adjust the height, the seat has fit tight as a drum on every one. Baby's safe and secure as she eats.

Easy-to-use: Just slip the pocket over the back of your chair then place Baby inside and buckle her up. I'm so glad I chose this over the seats that tie. The buckle straps thread though loops to ensure proper placement, then snap right closed.

Washable: I chose the dark purple fabric with pink circles, and food mishaps have washed right out. My Totseat still looks brand new.

I have never written a review before, but couldn't let this one go without telling everyone how much we love this product. We purchased it for our trip to florida for our 6 month old. It worked perfectly on the barstools at my parents and even better we have enjoyed taking it out to dinner with us and instead of using the highchairs we strap her in and I use a pacifier clip to clip a toy or to so it doesn't fall on the ground and she uses the seat of the chair as her little play area. it has been a great purchase. I even strap her in and put the chair at the glass front door and she watches the world go by and seems to really enjoy it!!

I travel with my son a LOT! We have been to Europe, Hawaii, Africa and Mexico and he's only 7 months old. So I'm always on the look out for travel gadgets to make our lives easier. This is definitely one of my favorites. It it small enough to fit in a diaper bag, it is easy to use and he is super happy in it. The only problem I have ever had with it is when the chair has a really high back because I have to find a cushion for my son to sit on.

Thank you Totseat! Finally, a light-weight and compact solution to the ever-increasing problem of turning up in a restaurant and there being no high chair. I carry it everywhere with me and found it essential on a recent trip including airports and National Park cafes. The only negative is that the child sits low to the table but, in most instances, this is solved but putting my bag/purse/backpack underneath her with a spit cloth over it. My 11-month old loves it and eats just as well as she would in a regular high chair.

This "portable high chair" has worked on every chair we've tried so far, and is easy to adjust. My 7mo. old loves it and he happily plays with toys while we eat. This potty chair was bit more expensive than I wanted to pay, but my daughter refused to sit on one of the small simple potty seats and was afraid of our toilet seat. We are almost completely potty trained and this potty chair is the reason why! It does talk and it can be loud, but if you child is past the step of "being shy to the potty", it's perfect. It has a sensor in it and if she sits on when the pee hits the potty, it says encouraging words like you've been on the potty. It tells her when the seat is up or down and tells her to find the toilet paper and flush it all away. She was really excited about it.

The only downside is that it can be considered play time if your child isn't quite ready for it.

I was on here today looking for a potty seat to put on our toilet with handles... I totally forgot or did not realize that I could put this seat on our big toilet. :)

It's another good product by Fisher Price.

This potty was so fun for my two little boys while they potty trained. It plays music and sings to them when they go #1/#2. It also plays music if they are sitting for a while. I found my boys sitting on it just to hear the music, which definitely made potty training easier and shorter for us.

I agree with other comments regarding "Noise" being distracting. My son is 5 years old and still loves to use this potty WITHOUT it turned on! My biggest complaint is it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep all the little nooks and crannies clean and at this point I am ready to throw it in the trash as it stinks!!! The urine gets trapped around all the sensor parts and there are so many crevices that it's impossible to clean them thoroughly every time one of my 2 kids uses the potty! Not a good investment and would definitely not buy it again. My recommendation to anyone looking for a potty seat, KEEP IT SIMPLE!

I did not buy this toilet based on the reveiws on this site. I came home one day and my husband had it set up and running. It was great because it made all the noises and had levers and things to open and turn. My daughter was a little over a year old and it also would talk to her and teach her words and noises associated with the potty. She had a great time playing with it in the bathroom getting accustomed to what a potty was and what it was for.

Then when she was a little older and it was time to potty train, we found, lo and behold! It has an off button hiding on the back of it! No need to take the batteries out or anything. Instant toy that she was comfortable with and used to playing with turned into a tool. We turned it off and left it off. She is now potty trained and uses it every day. She is not big enough to get up on the big toilet by herself yet, but we leave the bathroom light on and she gets up and goes and uses this potty whenever she needs to go on her own. Then she takes out the pot and dumps it in the big potty and flushes. It rocks!!!!

for me, this potty is working pretty well.

the biggest problem with this is that our big-girl toilet seat in our new apartment is too small for the top-part of the FP potty. since i can not use it for a seat for my daughter on the big-potty, that feature is flushed. most bathrooms are not large enough to house a second potty.

the next problem w/this potty is that the back of the potty stays with the "detachable" seat. on our other toilet, this obstructed the flushing portion of the toilet. it also would not easily detach from big-girl toilet. for this reason and also 1 and 2, you can only use this as a whole unit.

if you're ok with using potty on its own, this is a GREAT toilet ONLY if you don't mind the music (which is cute cute cute if you're using potty as a toy and not an actual training tool as it malfunctions and is not as accurate as they claim).

it is hard to clean all of the pieces inside of the toilet which can be affected by germs. the handles of the toilet are great, but mom's fingers cant get in there to clean, whereas toddler fingers could spread bacteria. (for my own paece-of-mind, i've taken the batteries out and just throw it in a bathtub full of bleach--it probably won't jingle now)

if you use this as a toy like i did from 6-12 months of age it is A GREAT TOY!!! @ 13 mos we started using as a potty and it works great since my daughter has very short legs. now she is 18 mos, the potty is too low to the ground and since she is still rather young, she has a hard time sitting down without help as the target can be tricky with your pants pulled down.

i'd give it a 5 star if it were simply a toy. as for practicality, i would only recommend for early-trainers or short legged kids and certainly only if your big-girl potty is large enough to hold the top part of the unit AND your kid doesn't touch themselves and risk spreading germs. knowing this, i'd probably still have bought it since she got plenty of use of it as a toy before we started training. but i'd definitely warn to read all reviews for your own decision of what would work.

My husband installed these on three of the four toilets in our house and I am SO HAPPY with them. They fit great and are so much cleaner and easier to use that traditional toilet-topper seats. I was having a terrible time keeping those clean with my 3 year old... trying to pry off the pad to clean under it was disgusting. Plus, it was difficult to deal with when we had company--we either had to put away the potty seat or guests got stuck trying to deal with it. This family seat is wonderful!!!! I was worried that it might feel unstable compared to our standard toilet seats, but I think it is actually more comfortable. My son still seems to somehow manage to get urine on the underside of the seat, but it is extremely easy to wipe clean. They look very nice. I don't know that I would feel comfortable closing the lid and sitting on the top of the seat during my son's bath time; I would be afraid to damage it, but overall this seat is FABULOUS. I'm so glad we got them!

This is an awesome idea. It needs to just be a lid you put on over your existing toilet. The adult portion feels like you are sitting on the rim, it's horribly uncomfortable. The toddler portion doesn't stay up, so you have to go with it leaning on your back. The adult portion, doesn't stay up at all, so my husband can't use it. It's such a great thing, it just needs to be improved.

Our little one will never go back to his "removable" potty seat again! This finally solved our problem of not having to clean the actual toilet seat (after taking off the portable one) when an adult or big kid needed it. First: make sure you order the right size, standard or elongated. Then you're set. I'm mechanically inept, yet I installed it in 5 minutes. My toddler was scared at first that he would fall in - many kids are scared for a day or two. But we held his hand and he realized he wouldn't fall, and two days later he was using it regularly. Months later, and all is well! We are so pleased.

The only minor issue, as others have noted, is that the third seat (the one that dads need to raise if they want to p standing up) sometimes falls forward, and you need to make sure it's up all the way. But this is minor - you get used to it quickly. EXCELLENT PRODUCT.

These are not maxipads... Well, okay, they perform more or less the same function, and are designed with elastic down the sides to capture a greater volume of liquid as is released when a child urinates. I have used these with both my now fully potty trained 3 yr old girl and my mostly potty trained 23-month old boy. They are amazing. Both kids wanted to stop using diapers before they were ready. PODS gave them a discrete way of feel self-assured on a shopping trip or at the park, and still let them feel in control of their bodies. I ran out and thought maybe we were done with them but my son actually wants another box. When we're through that one, I bet we're done with diapers forever!!

Pods do not do everything they say they will... they don't turn cold and when my son had an accident while wearing one, he never jumped to tell me he was wet. However, they did help bridge the gap between needing some protection while wearing underwear without wanting to go the pull up route - like for a long drive in the car.

The design didn't really bother me, but my husband can't stand them. Why... you might ask? Because they are identical to what a maxi-pad looks like. They are individually wrapped and have the same adhesive with a pull off strip - they look and feel and work in the same way. My husband refuses to use them and asks... Why on earth would I want to put a pad in our SON'S underwear?

Like some of the other mom's have said - save your money... Kotex will do the same job.

These pads are exactly like the Poise bladder protection pads. My son did not feel anything, so I had cut one up and poured warm water to see if it would turn cold, it doesn't. Also had worn one during my period, I couldn't feel the difference between wearing a maxipad and wearing pods. The box also does not indicate that the pads turn cold when wet. Save your money and get maxipads or Poise protection pads.

I purchased these potties for traveling with my 2 year old. We used one for the first time this past weekend. It was great. We were driving and we pulled over and put the potty between the 2 open car doors and he did his business. He is about 33lbs and the potty held him fine. He does his business quickly, so if he took a long time I am not sure this potty would be very comfortable, but is was great for him. I would recommend carrying some zip locks or garbage bags to put the potty in once used, if you are not going to be close to a trash can. I am writing this review as I am about to order more. I plan to use them in the airport if we have the need. I think they should have these potties for sale in airport bathrooms!

This seat meets all of our needs! It was easy to install with clear instructions, the adult seat is comfortable for adults (and it stays up perfectly for men's needs), and our 2 1/2 year old daughter loves the child's seat. She can sit very relaxed without fear of falling in. I love that the child's seat is built right in, so there is no messy potty ring to take on and off each time.

The seller provided excellent customer service. They sent an email before shipping the order with measuring instructions to make sure we had ordered the correct seat (standard vs. elongated). They also provided an email address and phone number in case we had any questions during installation -- I did and a knowledgeable and friendly employee answered the phone right away and helped me on the spot.

After we installed the first seat, we liked it so much that we immediately ordered another for our second bathroom. We are very, very happy with this product.

I would be a little concerned about whether the fully closed lid is strong enough for an adult to sit on, but this is not something we do so it's not an issue for us.

Here is the thing, I do no like it, my wife doesn't like it, and my two year old son doesn't like it. The problem I have is that the "Adult" seat will not stay up. The creates a problem when I am standing up going to the bathroom and it falls. The best part is that the slow close mechanism catches the seat at just the right height to create a total disaster. My wife does not like to sit on it because the "adult" seat is pushed way forward and she is touching the porcelain bowl. My two year old son does not like to sit on the training seat, I can't tell you the reason, all he yells is no, no, no!. He loves to sit on the BABYBJÖRN Toilet Trainer - White/Black. We really wanted an all in one seat, but this is not the answer.

"Great Concept---Could be Better Executed" 2009-12-12

After painstaking evaluation of the most popular and obscure family toilet seats, and flip attachment options I chose this toilet seat (because it was all in one, cute, soft closing)

During the evaluation process I came across a UK/AU version of this toilet seat (perhaps its the original, maybe produced from the same designer or maybe one or the other is a knock off, I can't be sure) call the LupiLu. It is similar in almost every way accept it doesn't seem to have the design flaws that the US/CA version does.

Flaws:

* The hole in the child seat is a bit too large for most toddlers if they consume a normal/natural human diet. It seems to be sized more for kindergarten aged children (5/6) and up or much larger toddlers. My daughter who is 2 months away from her 3rd must hold the sides of the seat to feel stable enough to use it. I also have to place her way back on the seat because the hole is so long.

* The adult seat is too small to cover the toilet. The rim of your actual toilet will stick out in the front and on the sides as if the designer did not fit this to actual toilet shapes when creating it. Most if not all other toilet seats cover and hang over the actual toilet rim a bit, but this one falls short of that by almost 1 cm on the sides and in the front. AND I assure you this is the proper seat for my toilet (round toilet to round seat)

If the UK/AU version (LupiLu) can fit US/AU toilets at the bolting points and other dimensions it might be worth the shipping to order it because the seat actually fits/covers the toilet (in the photos), and the size of the child seat is small enough that all average/normal sized children as well as larger children can use it from toddler age into childhood.

My seat also came with a small cosmetic defect as well :-(

Other Details:

If you are not a really heavy person, I think its ok to sit or stand on this toilet seat as you would a normal toilet seat. I would test this slowly before doing it, but my point is that it doesn't seem flimsy or fragile as described by a few others.

It also will not poke you in the back while the child seat is up as I would guess most other types of these toilets and flip attachments wouldn't either, again IF you are not obese. If your back touches or nearly touches your normal toilet seat when you sit, then this is probably going to cause a problem for you, but for other individuals its a non-issue.

The bottom seat sits off of the toilet a bit which is good if you have a bidet attachment on your toilet.

Plan on having/buying a very good step stool with strong rubber stoppers on the bottom big enough step area so they can turn around and sit down on the toilet, and perhaps a rail on one side if you are using this for toddlers and want them to be able to use it safely on their own.

The first time my daughter sat on this seat, it tipped over and she fell off. It has no grips on the bottom and it slid all around my tile floor. I promptly returned it for a seat with a lower base and non-skid grips.

I bought this potty at the store. I was able to take it out of the box to confirm that yes, it looked easy to clean.My nieces use this brand of potty. It works great for girls. It is easy to clean.

Not for BOYS. Here's why . . .

1. The bowl sits back to far. My son is tall and I always had to tell him to sit back farther.

2. The guard is too short. Fortunately the potty was sitting in an unused shower stall. Clean up was easy, but not a great way to train a young child.

3. A oval shaped bowl would be better.

For those reasons, I can't even use the top on the big toilet.

This is a wonderful potty. It's very sturdy. The seat itself is great for use on toilets. I love that it adjusts to fit to any toilet seat. And I have used the closed potty to sit on while bathing my kids. I never used the liners, I think it's easier to just wash the potty out.

The only reason I gave the potty four stars instead of five is the relatively small splash guard. It's a perfect potty for girls, but not the best for boys.

I bought this for my daughter before she is ready to potty train so she can get use to seeing it before the training begins. She LOVES to sit on it while it's closed and stand on it as a stool. The liners fit nicely and seem like they will make traveling with a potty and clean up easy. My only complaint is the lock to hold the lid down to make it a stool. Although we haven't actually used it as a potty yet, I can see an issue with the lid falling down and locking and an accident happening. I'm not sure if that will be a problem, and will re-post if it is, but that's the mommy-vision I see. Other then that, great quality and no problems with delivery.

I purchased three of these chairs so that I could have one on each floor of the house. It was the best chair I could find on the market and had some of the best reveiws I saw. It is overall a decent potty chair. I have two young boys. One successfully potty trained on this chair and one is still in the process. While my overall view is positive and I would buy it again, here are my areas of concern:

-My kids didn't want to sit and go potty. They wanted to stand like daddy and big brother. On occasions where they have missed the bowl and hit the back of the chair, the liquid leaks underneath the bowl and goes right to the floor/towel/mat whatever happens to be underneath at the time.

-While this chair only has two pieces, there are many ledges that urine can get to that can create colonies of bacteria. I just wanted to mention this because I have to clean the entire chair every single time just to make sure nothing was missed.

- The bowl could be a bit deeper for #2. Enough said.

This is otherwise a great seat and I would buy it again

This chair is simple, easy to clean, and sturdy. The child can easily get up and down and even dump out the bucket into the toilet. It is a little larger than the regular Bjorn potty chair and slightly less urganomic but works great for average to taller kids. The only issue I have is that the bucket sticks to the child when they get up which is sort of annoying!

I have a small 2 year-old child in the 10th percentile in weight. This seat works well for his small rump. The top portion of the seat removes very easily (which could be a good or bad thing, depending on your child). The rubber lining on the bottom also keeps it in place fairly well when he sits on it.

I can only assume that it will work fine for the generously proportioned toddlers, as well. I don't see why it wouldn't. And don't blame yourself for having a fat baby. His or her fatness may be entirely your fault, but just don't blame yourself. It's easier that way. Life's short. Eat bonbons. Right?

I have the Graco cushion seat potty too, and this was just for another bathroom. I wish I had spent the extra $10 for the Graco, because this potty seat is by far inferior. The cover keeps flipping onto my daughter while she's on it, and the little bucket is tiny. Also, the actual deat doesn't seem that comfortable, and isn't very secure when you put it on the adult toilet.I would suggest that you spend a little more money and get the Graco.

This potty is decent for the price you pay. It has a wider base, and is more set up like a step-stool than anything else. The top part flips up as a "back" but isn't meant for anything other than being a lid to the potty for its use as a step-stool.My son is just starting to use the potty, and he has a little bit of trouble being far enough back that he can actually pee into the pot. I think it would be fine for little girls, but it lacks the cup mechanism to help little boys. Overall, its decent for the cost, but if you have boys you'll have to do what I did and rig up a cup/splash guard for the front part.

If I paid a penny more I would give it 3 stars. Considering the price, I wouldn't expect more. The back support you see on the picture only serves as a cover. It is too flimsy to lay back on and also isn't flat, so it would hurt the child's back if leaned back. Made our of cheap plastic, but otherwise serves it's purpose.

Love this thing. It is adjustable so it grows with your child. My son will use it on his own. I don't have to worry about him peeing over the toilet or little sit down potties. He flushes it 2 or 3 times but it will only hold so much water so the bottom drawer wont over flow unless you refill the top without dumping the bottom first. It is easy to keep clean too. I recommend this for little boys. My sister even went out and bought one and loves it.

I bought this because of the great reviews it had. Now I wish I hadn't. My son and I sat down, super excited to open it up and put it together. As I pulled it out I noticed it was missing parts. It only had 2 screw, while the directions said I needed 6. It was missing a main piece as well. Not to mention, the more I looked at it the more I notice how badly crafted it was. There were plastic shavings falling off of it. The hole(s), edges, and other parts were cut jagged and not smooth. I tried to call the company that same day I got it but their voice mail box was full (gee, wonder why?). Then I read on the information included that it can not be returned, even if it has never been used. Now I am sitting here with an item I couldn't even put together if I wanted to. My son is extremely disappointed and I'm left wondering if I've just wasted 40 dollars. I am going to attempt to contact them yet again this coming week, so we will see how that goes.

If it was just a tad more stable it would be perfect, my son just turned 3 and is newly potty trained, but he just doesn't stand tall enough to use the big potty yet! So this is wonderful for toddlers who are ready for it, I had purchased it last year when my son was ready to start using a potty but he didn't quite understand the concept of standing to do the deed! But now he is like a pro! I would definitely recommend the wall attachment to make it stable, once the "pee cup" fills up it kept toppling over.

The Peter Potty does not include the mounting tools necessary for mounting, this is sold separately. Although I had no intentions of mounting the urinal to a wall the product advertises 2 positions, it can either stand on the post (included) or mounted to a wall. Also the urinal must lean against a wall or supportive object. It is NOT free standing. We also keep a small towel underneath because when you flush the water sometimes spills over to the floor. My 2 year old loves the Peter Potty Urinal and I like it because it is unique and introduces my son to an urinal. If asked would I buy this product if I knew then what I know now, the answer would be YES simply because the pros outweigh the cons.

I was a little leery of this, especially because of the reviews about quality and sturdiness, because of course you want sturdiness for your kids. I was fully prepared to send it back if it didn't meet my needs.However, it works beautifully! Easy set-up, and it's adjustable so that my daughter can climb up and sit on the seat all by herself. Note that she is under 30lbs, but it's plenty sturdy for her. She could probably be up to 40lbs and be OK. She can even jump on it.It fully covers the toilet seat, so I'm not worried about it slipping or her falling in. The steps and railings are perfect for her to climb up on. We got it at 6pm, set it up, and right away she climbed up and peed. Later that evening, she went #2 for the first time in a big toilet, all by herself. I'm so pleased I got this!!

The ladder for this seat did not touch the floor. We had to send it back because it was about an inch or two short. If you do decide to try the product, you should measure your toilet first. That said, I do agree with some of the other postings that it seemed rather flimsy. Even if it had reached the floor, the seat did not fit firmly on the seat. Perhaps its just made for other toilets.

This is a wonderful idea - bought for very independant 18m 20# boy to use. Most stools are too short for feet to touch was hoping this would help. It's still a little too short (my boy is in the 10% in weight and 75% in height - long and lanky) Worked OK he is not very heavy and the step is wobbly - no amount of tightning on the plastic screws makes it so it won't rock back when he is securely planted in the seat and pushes down on the handle (foot platform and legs will lift off the ground) While this doesn't pose a risk as he is sitting on the seat he finds thumping the legs on the ground entertaining I find it annoying. Plus you have to lift both the lid and the seat in order to place this seat on the toilet - not so bad for a boy - not looking forward to using it for my daughter with a young boy who tends to "miss the mark". I think Toilet seats are ookey to touch even with a tube of clorox wipes handy.
Overall my son likes it, he can put it on the toilet and take it off and uses it so it serves it's purpose - could use improvement.
Needs to be heaver/thicker/more solid
wish the foot rest were adjustable in height
Wish it sat over the existing toilet seat insead of directly on the toilet

I just purchased this potty today for my son. He is just getting used to sitting on the potty and not yet using it. He likes the handles because it helps him feel stable while sitting. He will sit on it but the opening is WAY TOO SMALL! I don't see how any child can use it without making a mess. We will be returning this potty and getting another one. We will probably go with the Baby Bjorn. Don't waste your money or your time on this one!

We had the same problems other people did with this potty. Pee sprayed out when my daughter sat on it, and the splash guard is useless for a boy since it doesn't stay in place at all. The seat comes off of the base all the time, and the lid closes on the child's back while they are sitting on it. The bottom is narrower than the seat, so it is prone to tipping with a kid on it. The step stool is too low to actually be helpful for getting a small toddler onto the big toilet. The seat didn't fit on top of our toilet very well either, but we managed to use it anyway, although maybe others have different shaped toilet seats that would work better for this. Also, in order to use it as a step stool you have to snap on separate little anti-skid thingies, which cannot be kept on it when using as a regular potty chair or it won't close properly, so they are likely to get lost somewhere in the process of detaching and reattaching them between uses, since the potty has no built-in storage area for these little attachments. And, its construction makes it pretty difficult to keep clean. I wouldn't recommend this and am looking for a better seat to buy.

I can't not review this potty. I must try to spare other parents. The footprint is smaller than the sitting surface, so it always tips and wobbles when she tries to sit on it. This instability scares her. When it wobbles, the lid falls closed on her back, which scares her. (The lid is light and doesn't hurt, but still.) It's filled with little crevices, which I am sure would be impossible to clean if she weren't too scared of it to actually pee in it. It's trying to do too much, and it certainly does a crummy job of each task. This potty has actually set back our potty-training process.

This potty is driving me crazy. Unless my daughter sits on it in a particular way, she ends up messing up the floor, AND SHE'S A GIRL! I don't know what the problem is; perhaps the hole in the seat is simply too small. If I position her in the correct position, a mess is avoided, but she can't find that "perfect position" by herself. That's a lot to ask of a two year old. She has no problem at all with a different padded potty seat that sits on top of the toilet.

My son is 3 and uses this and in fact we liked it so much, we bought another one for the upstairs bathroom! It's convenient, portable, easy to dump out contents from the chamber and we just rinse out and set back in the chair. The rails help child to get on and off. I have not used on top of a toilet, I just wanted it as a potty chair or a step stool, so I cannot comment on that part. It does not tip on us. I have no problems with it whatsoever. Yes, the splash guard can fall in, but we just wash off and snap back into place and I try to teach my son to just point downward when going to the bathroom so he'll eventually not have to use it at all.

I have read the reviews by people with boys potty training. Not sure why they are having trouble. Seat is simple no bells, voices or scary parts. Wide base for ease of getting on and off, the pee guard does not interfere with my two year old grandson and he gets on and off unaided. The trick to not having a boy pee between any area is to have them lean or sit forward so the aim is downward. Haven't tried the removable seat on the big toilet but I don't expect to need to. My kids went from the potty toilet to big toilet without the in-between step so won't be an issue for me.Liked the larger bowl area not thrilled about the cushioned seat but seemed to be a feature on a lot of potty chairs. Looked at the bjorn but the bowl for disposal was too small could see number 2 being awkward to clean up. Also very clumsy to get on and off unaided, granted it would not tip but hand landing in the potty bowl was foreseeable.Like the toilet roll being near at hand and that he learns to use it. Lid does not interfere with sitting and was far enough back as to not be a crutch to lean on. I have dogs so the closable lid serves two purposes - 1) to keep dogs away until I can clean up 2) teaches my grandson to do what every woman wants the toilet seat down.
I think having the closed base unit a plus for potential accidental spills because it will contain excess and an easy rinse and clean is better than the floor any day. Also will serve as a nice step stool for washing hands at the sink when he is ready.Can't agree folks of all the ones I tried at the stores (multiple stores mind you, Grandpa was not thrilled at fussy grandma) I like this one the best. Get rid of the cushion seat and I'd be really happy.

The pee guard on this awful, my poor little guy has gotten wacked right in the "beans" (thank you to my husband for teaching him that one!) too many times trying to sit down. Not only does it stick up awkwardly, but the plastic is hard and sharp. Although we just started potty training, he won't even sit on it anymore and we've had no luck in getting him to go on this.

I thought this potty looked great in the beginning but really its set back the whole potty learning process. I got this one because the cushioned seat could be used on the adult toilet, but it is too small and falls in! It scared my little boy to be sitting on something so unstable and it scared him away from the toilet for a while. I also found it very bulky and taking up alot of space. The pee-guard is a good idea but gets in the way for a little boy. Besides, he's taken to standing up to pee in the potty and even though his aim is very good, the shape of the bowl is such that urine drips down and puddles in the bottom of the container. It made for lots of messes. Eventually I gave up on it, I got a seat that actually fit on the toilet and replaced it with a Bjorn Little Potty. Even at the high end stores, the Bjorn still a much better value than this one: small, no where near as messy and much more affordable.

Ok, so take what I say with a pinch of salt since my son has not used it and I just got it. That is why I am going to return it.

The pros: It looks ok, my son was definitely interested in using it, it is not expensive and the seat is well cushioned.

The cons: The seat, which in theory adapts to any toilet for latter use is tiny. It can go in the big toilet bowl, so it will NOT work for latter use in a regular toilet seat. The hole in the potty seat is tiny and the green pee guard ends up being too close to the penis so when my son was trying to seat he hurt himself with the green guard (that is why it was not used). I could teach him to hold his penis down and to seat carefully to avoid further pain, but (in my opinion) if potty training is hard work unto itself having this potty is just going to make it harder. If you don't install the green guard thing pee can go everywhere, especially under the seat. This drives me to the last inconvenience I see, the bowl in the potty. The bowl in the potty to catch the pee is shaped like a pitcher. The potty frame has two holes at the front to get the pitcher out and empty it. It is a pincer grip to get the `handle' of the pitcher. However, if pee has gone under the seat then the pee can leak through those holes and into the potty frame... not the pitcher shaped bowl that is supposed to catch the pee. If that happens, it will be hard to clean the whole thing. If the potty frame did not have the holes and had just handles to pull the pitcher out then it would be better.

I think the design is not the best for boys. Though it can work for girls, since there is no pee guard issue... Maybe sticking to something with a simpler design is best for me and my son...

I got this one at Target. I got it there because I wanted to 'see' the potty and buy a good one.... Murphy's law worked for me this time! The pictures in the box don't show all the components or the flaws this potty has. Target should have open pieces for us to see what we are getting. Oh, well. I hope this helps you. :)
